FTP

Funtional Threshold Power

The power that can be sustained without rapid fatigue, often exceeding FTP, is a fundamental and essential metric in performance measurement and training composition. This concept is based on the physiological principle that using power beyond FTP leads to rapid and substantial fatigue accumulation, making it difficult to sustain for extended periods.

TTE

Time to Exhaustion

The time that one can sustain power corresponding to FTP varies for each rider.

Previously, FTP was defined with a standard time of 60 minutes, making it challenging to apply to disciplines other than road racing or for individuals with different characteristics. However, with the introduction of TTE (Time to Exhaustion), it became possible to analyze and train based on individualized data tailored to each person's situation and characteristics.

RP

Riduck Power

High-intensity activities emphasize a higher proportion, while low-intensity activities emphasize a lower proportion, resulting in a power calculation that more realistically reflects the load on the body than simple average power.

IF

Intensity Factor

The Intensity Factor (IF) is a numerical representation of the intensity of a given activity, where a higher value indicates riding at a higher intensity. IF is calculated as (RP/FTP). If IF is close to 1, it means riding at a power close to FTP.

TSS

Training Stress Score

Training Stress Score (TSS) quantifies the fatigue level of a training session. When riding for 1 hour at FTP, 100 TSS is accumulated. If the intensity is lower or the duration is shorter than this, the TSS will be lower; conversely, if the intensity is higher or the duration is longer, the TSS will be higher.

Fitness / CTL

Chronic Training Loads

It reflects the training load accumulated over a long period (chronic training load). It reflects the training volume over the last 12 weeks.

Fartigue / ATL

Acute Training Loads / Fatigue

Recent accumulated training load (acute training load). It reflects the training volume over the last 7 days and indicates how much impact the training is having on me.

Balance / TSB

Training Stress Balance

It is the difference between fitness (CTL) and fatigue (ATL). A higher number indicates better condition, while a lower number indicates a fatigued state.
